ACM SIGIR Travel Awards

The SIGIR Student Travel Award Program (https://sigir.org/general-information/travel-grants/) provides funding for students who are members of ACM SIGIR to help cover the cost of travel and lodging to attend and contribute to CIKM 2026.

SIGIR is pleased to offer the  Student Travel Award for students presenting their accepted contributions at CIKM 2026.

For awardees, the award will cover the cost of in-person registration (main conference and workshops/tutorials if desired) and U$D 1,000 stipend towards travel and accommodation costs. In addition, awardees are required to assist the conference organizers in numerous activities during the event days.

Eligibility criteria: the student must:

• Be a SIGIR student member. (SIGIR student travel awards are only open to SIGIR members. If you are not, you can click here to join SIGIR before continuing.)
• Be a full-time student (graduate or undergraduate) enrolled in an academic institution at the time of the conference.
• Be an author of an accepted contribution.
• Be the author presenting said contribution.

These awards are competitive (i.e., not every applicant will receive an award).  We will prioritize students presenting with accepted contributions on the main conference track; students from underrepresented countries; and students who have not received an award in the past.

SIGWEB Fair Access Grant

SIGWEB is committed to promoting fair access to its conferences and to achieve this goal, SIGWEB is increasing and broadening the student support offered at these events. This initiative aims to reduce financial barriers for all students, as well as to early researchers from economically developing countries, thus enabling broader participation in conferences and creating a more inclusive academic community.

Grant amount: The total grant amount allocated for conference name is of $10,000. The size of the award to an individual may vary depending on various factors such as the number of qualified applicants or the distance travelled. Applicants may submit applications prior to learning whether their papers have been accepted. However, preference will be given to individuals who have an accepted paper and who will be presenting that work themselves.

Eligibility criteria: The grants are open to all MS and PhD students, as well as to post-doctoral researchers, or non-tenured professionals who are residents in any of the countries listed at https://services.acm.org/public/qj/proflevel/countryListing.cfm. The grant may be used to support travel to the conference, including flights, accommodation costs, and other costs related to obtaining a VISA.
